How To Style a Floral Skirt for Eveningwear

Ladies and gents!  We are finally welcoming evening wear to the blog and what better way than through a Valentines Day post.  I have three looks starting from day to full on evening wear.

This first look is my take on an early evening outfit, it transitions nicely from day to dinner.  I paired a loose blouse with an A line floral skirt, sock boots and a blazer.  To spice it up, I tied a black neckerchief around my neck to create an elevated, choker-like look.  When it comes to evening wear, I think that chokers are super sexy, but can come across as childish.  The perfect alternative for a more mature look is a thin scarf or neckerchief.  Mine was a parting gift from DRESSHIRT, the fashion company that I used to intern for.

We had the pleasure of shooting at Aquitaine, a beautiful restaurant in the South End of Boston.  Anthony scouted this lovely spot and insisted that we had to shoot here.  Aside from the beautiful light coming in from the expansive front windows, I love their fully stocked bar.  They carry unique liquors, like Creme de Violet from France!

While shooting there, we had the pleasure of photographing, and occasionally sipping on some of their specialty cocktails.  The pink drink from this look is called Fraises Des Bois, a strawberry infused gin with Meyer lemon, basil and tonic...hello perfection.  Out of all of the cocktails we tried, this one was my favorite.  It was refreshing and sweet, but not too sweet.  If you are in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend stopping in for a specialty cocktail or meal.
