NYFW '17 | My Favorite Shows

I recently attended NYFW to see the Fall Winter 2017 shows and was lucky enough to see quite a few.  I've narrowed down a list of my three favorite shows and presentations below.

Michael Costello

Michael Costello's show was exactly what came to mind when I imagined NYFW.  The drama of the show in addition to the embellished styles make it my favorite show.  Michael Costello is known for dressing celebrities (think JLO in her canary yellow dress), but this season was all about the rock star.  She was glamorous, sophisticated and fierce AF.

Casey Caldwell

I went to Casey's show by chance, and it was one of the best decisions I made during Fashion Week.  The show itself was very intimate and held in the backroom of the LGBTQ club, The Deep End in Brooklyn.  His pieces were inspired by and reacted to the current political climate.  They are avant-garde and reminded me of the dark romanticism of Alexander McQueen and I lusted over all of the pieces.

Memere Collection

Member Collection

The crowd was abuzz with excitement as Memere Collection was unveiled.  The presentation was simple with a white backdrop, and white roses encircling the models.  The pieces were feminine, with a soft effortlessness, and evoked a French girl vibe.  This show really left and impression on me and is the first show that comes to mind when I reminisce on NYFW.
