Behind the Scenes with Designer Anna Neiman

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Anna Nieman the other week to see her new In Bloom Collection.  I met with her during the collection photo shoot at the Wellesley Botanical Gardens.  Observing the scene, I could understand her vision through the way that she directed the shoot.  She wanted the model to feel as though she was one with the flowers around her, which is understandable considering the beautiful floral patterns and color schemes of the dresses.  Anna works with a variety of textiles, some with a bright sheen and others with intricate floral appliqué.  In addition to the setting, Anna set the mood with a soundtrack that was both etherial and contemporary which embodied the vision of the shoot.

Anna Nieman describes her In Bloom Collection |

"Flowers create a special mood, have the power of transformation, and freely speak to a woman's heart. Maybe this is the reason why finally this year fashion designers so boldly and forcefully are bringing these feminine elements to women's fashion.

As an artist I was so excited to show my version of how colors and floral motifs can empower feminine beauty and create some excitement and elegance.

This year, I am presenting my collection, "In Bloom", where my art and fashion meet. Hopefully this collection will ignite your imagination and you can visualize yourself wearing these creations for your special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, galas, and parties."

-XOXO,

Anna Nieman

I love being on the set of a photo shoot because you experience the effort that goes into the final product first hand.  It gives you an idea as to who the designer really is and what the they are truly looking for.  Watching Anna give examples of poses, and hearing her concept really come to life was very educational.  And since I was behind the scenes, I got to see a glimpse of her and her thought process that many others don't.  I am so happy that I stopped by and got to experience her in action.  Working behind the scenes can be a lot of work, but there is a special intimacy about it that can't be matched.
