How To Incorporate Athleisure at Work

If you don't follow me on Instagram, I'll bring you up to speed:

Before Halloween, I did a poll on athleisure pieces for work, since an athleisure post got a lot of attention.  This week, put the looks into motion and I am testing out the most popular voted athleisure pieces for work.

Below are screenshots of the polls |

For this post I am wearing the voted for pieces to work and giving an analysis on their comfort level and the level of professionalism too.

Integrating athleisure into workwear has really challenged me and pushed me to dress outside of my comfort zone.  Some pieces are easier to integrate than others, but making each outfit different than the next has proven to be tough at times.  Ir can be intimidating taking a casual piece and wearing it in a professional setting. However, it has changed my perspective and made my work week fun.  All in all, this project has taught me to be more experimental with the way that I dress and has encouraged me to push myself to wear different pieces to work.  I hope that this post and experiment inspires you too!

Athleisure Look 2 | Athletic Leggings

I know that the leggings were controversial on the Insta Stories poll, but these were another easy piece to integrate.  Pair them with a long blouse, sweater and blazer with put together shoes, and you're set.  Just remember that they are for work and not workout, so keep the look more on the modest side because they are form fitting.  Let the fitted style show off your legs, in an office appropriate way.

Athleisure Look 3 | Varsity//Bomber Jacket

When it comes to wearing athleisure pieces, there are two ways to wear them subdued, or statement.  This first look was the original way that I wore the jacket, with simple silhouettes.  A fitted button down, paired with skinny pants and sneakers.  This is an easy look to integrate into your work wardrobe.

This next look is for the daring, who like to play with proportion and silhouettes.  I paired a fitted turtleneck with high waist wide leg denim culottes and knee high boots.  The original pieces has an equestrian vibe.  However, the varsity jacket juxtaposes it with a sporty pop of color.

Athleisure Look 4 | Graphic Tee

Graphic Tees are my all time favorite wardrobe staple.  They can be worn in so many different settings and always leave a cheeky impression.  Words or graphics can really express how you feel, make a statement, or engage someone else in conversation. I paired my graphic tee with high waist black denim, sneakers and a statement green coat.
